Xiaomi is set to unveil its flagship device, the Xiaomi 15 series, in China this month. The company has finally teased the exact launch date on October 29 and revealed the design of the phones. The Xiaomi 15 series will include three smartphones: Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 15 Pro, and Xiaomi 15 Ultra. While the Xioami 15 and 15 Pro will be launched this month, the Ultra model will arrive a little later. According to the SmartPrix report, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be released in full glory in February 2025. Even when not in the limelight, the design images leaked by the SmartPrix have raised a few concerns among users.
The upcoming event is speculated to tease the Ultra model, but before that could happen, the leaked images indicate wild design language. The leaked images indicate a bold circular camera module on the back, housing four lenses, and yes, the Leica branding is front and center on that module, making a statement on the top left.
But, a closer look gives you a little detailed look. As per the leak, the camera module shows that the camera lens has been placed in an unsymmetrical manner. While a few may call it a bold move, such camera placement is not pleasing to the eyes.
The periscope module is located in the top right of the circular camera setup. This upgraded periscope zoom lens features a 200-megapixel resolution, 4.3x optical zoom, and an f/2.6 aperture, utilising the Samsung ISOCELL HP9 1/1.4-inch image sensor. The primary camera will have a 50-megapixel Sony sensor, with two additional lenses positioned horizontally at the bottom of the camera module.

The other two lenses consist of a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 50-megapixel 2x telephoto zoom lens. On the front, there will be a 32-megapixel selfie camera, according to the rumours. Two flash LEDs are aligned horizontally at the top, while the Xiaomi logo is positioned vertically in the bottom left corner.
Internally, Xiaomi is banking big on the upcoming Ultra flagship smartphone promising big hardware and software gains, with a particular focus on improving the HDR performance. Like the other upcoming flagship devices, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is also expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite, promising smooth performance.
The battery capacity is anticipated to increase to 6,000mAh, up from 5,300mAh in the Chinese version. Wired charging is likely to be limited to 90W, while wireless charging is expected to be upgraded to 80W. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will run on HyperOS 2, based on Android 15.
